This term MMSA-Human Rights and Peace brings to you Aware in Care - a series of workshops focused on Doctor-Patient interaction with the aim of enhancing medical students' knowledge and skills in supporting patients presenting with challenging social backgrounds.
In collaboration with MMSA-Public Health, we give you our very first workshop - Above The Influence where we will be tackling substance abuse and addiction. 🥃💉💊
At one point or another in our future careers as doctors, we will most definitely come across patients who are battling some kind of addiction. In many cases we will be one of the very first professionals that drug or alcohol users interact with. Thus, we must be able to not only recognise the signs which indicate a drug or alcohol problem, but also be aware of what support we can offer these patients.
